Nextdore is a three-generation family business, established in 1960 as Dores for Floors under the ownership of Theo Dore. As our business has evolved, Theo’s commitment to providing customer-focused service continues to underpin everything we do.
Dores began life as a specialty flooring retailer, before expanding into soft furnishings and tiles. As the demands of our customers evolved beyond carpet and vinyl, our approach evolved too.
While we still supply and install a range of the highest quality flooring and furnishings, our real value to our customers is in the knowledge and expertise of our interior design team.
I am very proud to continue the legacy that my grandfather and father created.

Today however we are design lead, we create spaces that enhance people’s lives, with the advantage of more than 60 years of experience in flooring and textiles, and that makes us unique in the industry. I love design, I love my job and the people I work with every day, our team, our suppliers, and our very loyal customers. It is incredibly important to me that you have a unique and enjoyable experience every time you walk in our door.
Obsession with design and development was my mission. In 2002 when I re-joined what was then Dore’s For Floors after a career in my own design business in Auckland, I was part of a vision in building our team and brand which would develop into the thriving, approachable, and yes fun environment that is now Nextdore Interiors.
I am unhesitatingly proud to be a part of a team of inspiring yet individual designers and professionals who make up Nextdore Interiors, the people behind the brand that make the experience so enriching for you our clients.
I always think of myself as the floorcovering guru who has spent a 40-year career with what is now the enduring brand Nextdore Interiors. It is a true pleasure sharing my craft and the wealth of knowledge I have with staff and clients alike.
I am indescribably thankful for the people – buyers, sellers, friends and family who have been part of the incredible story that has been my career to date and even now feel privileged to be part of the journey of this ever evolving business.
